SWA Architecture Weekly Blog

Hello and welcome back to the SWA Architecture weekly blog.  This is a special holiday bonus post that we just couldn't wait to get to you.  We also just did a post yesterday so if you haven't gotten to see that one please take a look where we covered a new McDonald's in the heart of Timesquare.  For this bonus post we are going to update you on a project we previously have looked at.

This is the US Census building in Brooklyn.  We took a look a this spot in early November when it was still heavily under construction.  As you can tell by the photographs now, the construction is over and it is near opening.  We are very excited to have this done.

Here is a brief synopsis of the Census Bureau.  The Census Bureau's mission is to serve as the nations leading provider of quality data about its people and economy.  Every ten years a new survey is sent to the people of our nation to fill out so they can update all the data to be the most accurate.  The next census will be in 2020.  This company is part of the General Services Administration or GSA for short and the US Census Bureau.  SWA Architecture are the architects, planners and expediters for this location as well as the other location in the Bronx.

That's it for the bonus post from SWA Architecture.  The next time we will be having a post come up will be in 2019!  From all of us at SWA Archtiecture, Happy New Year!  Be safe and let this year be your best.  Also, give us a follow on instagram - @swa_architecture to see all the wonderful projects we have worked on

SWA Architecture Weekly Blog

Hello and welcome back to the SWA Architecture weekly blog.  For those of you who are new to our popular architecture blog here is basically what it is.  We look at projects that SWA Architecture has been a part of and show you what SWA Architecture did and what this project actually is.  Ranging from houses to hotels to franchises.  In our Friday edition of the SWA Architecture blog we take a look our biggest client to date, McDonalds.

This specific McDonalds is located in the heart of Times Square at 1530 Broadway.  This will be a landmark McDonalds in a the part of Manhattan with the most foot traffic.  Fun little tidbit about Times Square, this area is called Times Square when in 1904 Albert Ochs, publisher of The New York Times, moved the newspaper's headquarters to a new skyscraper on what was then known as Longacre Square.  Fair to say Times Square has a little bit more of a ring to it.

SWA Architecture is responsible for expediting this very complex project.  This is a multilevel McDonalds in a very high traffic area.  The pictures show the cellar, kitchen, first floor, second floor and mezzanine. SWA was also involved in the Toys 'R Us space which existed in this building previously.  This McDonalds project is one over 800 projects that SWA Architecture is a part of.  Again, we love working with McDonalds and they seem to love working with us too!

That's it this week for the SWA Architecture weekly blog post.  From all of us at SWA Architecture, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year.  Also, if you haven't follow us on instagram go find us and do so - @swa_architecture Stay tuned next week for another post coming your way before the New Year!

SWA Architecture Weekly Blog

Hello and welcome to the SWA Architecture weekly blog.  The blog where we take an in-depth look at projects SWA Architecture has been a part of.  Last week we looked at two great projects so if you haven't seen them go take a look.  This week we take a look at a new project we will be doing with McDonalds.

Yes, that McDonalds.  We have done over 800 projects with McDonalds in the Northeast corridor making them easily one of our biggest clients.  We have a terrific working relationship with them and hope to only do more projects with them.  Above we have some pictures and drawings.  Below are some more renderings.

This project is specifically located at 2616 Connecticut Ave in Washington D.C. We worked with the historical group of the Washington D.C. Government for this project.  This project is located near the National Zoo.   Below are some aerial views and some zoning maps.  Some inside baseball for architects.  SWA Architecture are the architects, planners, designers and expeditors for this location.

That's it this week for the SWA Architecture weekly blog.  Stay tuned for a possible bonus post coming your way.  Also, as always, give us a follow on instagram and check out our instagram page to see all the wonderful projects we have worked on - @swa_architecture

SWA Architecture Weekly Blog

Hello and welcome to a special bonus post from the SWA Architecture weekly blog.  If you miss our post earlier this week go ahead and check it out and it was a great one.  As for this week, we are revisiting the Rivergate apartment complex we have done a lot of work on before.  This time however there is a new section that really is being redone.

Last time we visited this spot we had done a massive redesign of this apartment complex and lobby.  This time we are focusing on the plaza that is undergoing a massive change.  The picture above illustrates what the finished project will be as well as the building itself.  The pictures below are of what it looks like now.  Clearly a long way to go but be patient, it will be a beautiful addition.

SWA Architecture is responsible for the expediting for this project.  It was in coordination with another architect.  This is our third project collaborating with UDR, a national company.

That's it this week for the SWA Architecture weekly blog.  Stay tuned next week for some really creative projects coming your way.  And as always, give us a follow on instagram - @swa_architecture where you can see all the projects we have worked on in one portal.

SWA Architecture Weekly Blog

Hello and welcome back to the SWA Architecture weekly blog.  Every week we come with at least one post and sometimes even two posts about projects that SWA Architecture has been a part of.  SWA Architecture mainly works on projects in New York but have done projects all over the Northeast.  Each week this blog wants to give you an insight into some of the most prodigious projects we have worked on.

This week we take a look at a project still in what we call the design phase.  It is located at 79 Quay Street,  right near the Brooklyn water front.  Right now it is a regular old building, as you can tell by the pictures above.  SWA Architecture is undergoing a major rezoning of this existing large building.  We are going to make this bad boy into a mixed use residential and commercial building with plenty of new apartments.  The drawings we have put together are below.

SWA Architecture are the architects, designers, planners, loft board specialists and expediters of this project.  It is our first project with these clients and hope to do many more projects with them once this is done.  We are looking forward to what this will become.

That's it this week for the SWA Architecture weekly blog.  Stay tuned for a bonus post coming your way later this week.  It'll be a beautiful space so you don't want to miss it.  Also, don't forget to give us a follow on instagram - @swa_architecture
