SWA Architecture Weekly Blog Post!

Hello and welcome back to the SWA Architecture weekly blog post.  Today we are looking at two sites that are on their way to becoming beautiful.  





The first spot is located at 11 6th Avenue.  As you can tell from the photos above it is not even close to being what we expect it to be but we will get there.  The owner has been in the neighborhood for forty years and this the newest location from him.  Prior to being worked on this spot was a a liquor store for many years but now with the help of SWA Architecture it is being converted to a restaurant/bar lounge.  There will also be an enclosed sidewalk cafe to finish off this beauty.  Pretty exciting!  












Our second location is close by at 86 Delancey. Again, this project is in the early phases of being completed as you can see in the photo below.  It is just a construction site now but look below and you’ll see a bunch of renderings of what this baby will look like.  





This project is the next one in a series of projects SWA has done for this developer.  This will be a 12 story commercial and residential building with spectacular views of the east river and Williamsburg bridge.  The location is in an area of Manhattan that is being transformed as we speak so check it out.  



As you can see this will be one wonderful building.  That is all this week from SWA.  Stay tuned for next week with some amazing new projects!

SWA Architecture Weekly Blog Post

Hello and welcome to a bonus post from SWA Architecture!  In this highly irregular but most welcome bonus post we will be looking at a new building that will be set up at 325 Avenue U in Brooklyn.  That is not a typo we also do projects in Brooklyn, plenty of projects in fact.  Similar to the previous post, below is what the project looks like now.



Also similar to the previous post below is a rendering of what we hope the end result of this project will look like.  It will be for mixed use commercial on the first floor and residential above for eight floors.  There is also a high end penthouse that takes the top two floors.  There is indoor parking for the tenants.  This is our first project with this developer and hope to do more.

SWA Weekly Blog Post

Hello and welcome back to this weeks SWA Architecture weekly blog post.  Today we are looking at a new building located at 7-9 E 30th Street.  As you can see below there isn’t actually anything built yet.  Hopefully the building will be up later this year.  SWA Architecture is in the design phase of this project.  It is a “deconstructive" design idea for a developer who we have worked with in the past.  





Below is a rendering of what the finished product will look like.  Talk about a beauty!  It will be commercial on the first floor with twenty two stories of residential apartments above.  SWA Architecture is looking forward to getting this project up for people to admire.

Historical Storefronts From SWA Architecture!

Hello and welcome back to SWA Architecture’s weekly blog posts.  This week we have two projects for you to see that are slightly different then our previous posts.  This week we look at two storefronts and the lovely work SWA Architecture helped to make them look so damn beautiful.  They are both in the famous “Ladies Mile” historic district in Manhattan.



The picture above shows the existing original historic storefront, located at 12 West 19th Street in Manhattan. Twenty five feet wide, it has a brownstone ashlar above the second story.  Built around 1852, for G.F, Talman, the building was originally a dwelling of three stories with a basement.  In 1910 the front wall of the basement  and first story was extended to the building line and shopfront installed.  An early national tenant was National Dairy Restaurant.  SWA has designed a new storefront for this location.  Below is a rendering of what the storefront will look like once construction is complete.



Next we are looking at an historic storefront not too far down at 4 West 19th Street.  On this project, SWA completed restoration of an original historic storefront.  Not too shabby if I do say so myself.

New Residential Building

Hello and welcome back to a bonus post this week for the SWA Architecture weekly blog post.  If for some reason this is the first post you are reading, this is a weekly blog about different projects SWA Architecture has been a part of.  Also, if this is the first post you are reading, go and read all our other weekly posts as soon as you're done with this one.  




This week we are looking at a project still under construction.  The picture above shows us a project that SWA Architecture started from the ground up.  SWA combined two old four story buildings into one eight story new residential apartment building with a rooftop and duplex.





This project is for some famous international soccer guys who SWA Architecture has done projects with in the past.  If I know anything, soccer players have style so be on the lookout for this building to look great.  That's it for this week, stay tuned for the next post from the weekly SWA Architecture blog post.

The Ribbon

Welcome back SWA Architecture’s weekly blog about various projects SWA has been involved with.  This week we are looking at one heck of a restaurant in the Upper Westside.  Welcome to The Ribbon, located at 20 W 72nd street.  



It has been open for close to two years and let me tell you, the food is excellent.  From their delicious starters such as the deviled eggs, to the extravagant butchers board, this place is a must for foodies.  The Bromberg Brothers are the chef’s of note and they do not disappoint.  



SWA Architecture played a huge part in this restaurant opening up.  The Ribbon before opening took over from another restaurant.  SWA completely redesigned the layout of the restaurant, making a more manageable and sleek design.  




So stop by the Ribbon, and then go the nearby Dakota, famous for where John Lennon was shot, and then straight to Central Park for a marvelous day.  Thats it for this week.  Stay tuned for more.

Apartment

Welcome back to SWA Architectures blog.  In case this is your first time looking at our amazing blog let me explain the basics.  SWA Architecture designs so many different buildings, apartments, restaurants etc. that we thought why not share with the world our great structures.  This week we are looking at an apartment that was recently finished with the design of SWA Architecture.



Here is a quick rundown of what SWA Architecture did to make this masterpiece.  The apartment was an empty loft when we first started on this project.  SWA Architecture made the space into a two bedroom apartment with an amazing new kitchen and of course an amazing master bathroom.  





Needless to say this apartment came out beautiful and the owner always lets us hear indeed how magnificent it is.  There will be more to come so stay tuned for SWA Architectures next blog post!



Zona Rosa

Hello and welcome to SWA Architectures blog where we talk about the different projects SWA Architecture has worked on all over New York City.  They vary from apartments, to restaurants, to sidewalk cafes, to even hotels.  On this blog post we are going to examine a very tasty restaurant In Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  This restaurant is of course Zona Rosa.



This vacant lot used to only have a food trailer.  People would walk up and order from the window.  SWA Architecture helped created what you see before you now.  SWA designed an entire restaurant around the trailer which is still the kitchen!  Talk about using everything that you have.



SWA first just designed a first floor but then SWA founder and boss, Steve Wygoda, decided that they could do a flat roof and have dining up there as well.  Innovative and economical, who doesn't want that.  Take a look above to see the second floor. 




The store is owned by Jorge Boetto.  This is his second restaurant, his first one is just around the corner on Grand Street, Mesa Coyocan.  I think based off what you saw here the next time you are in Williamsburg make Zona Rosa the spot to go to!
