SWA Architecture Weekly Blog

Hello and welcome to a special bonus post to the SWA Architecture weekly blog.  If you missed our other post from this week finish this one first and go check it out.  It was one of our favorites that we have posted about.  I bet the suspense is killing you.

As for this week, we take an updated look at a location for the third time.  Yes, this is the third time we have stopped at the historic landmark location of 4 St. Marks.  Also known as the Hamilton Holly house.  A brief refresher, this large townhouse in the East Village was constructed in 1833, and designated into a landmark building in 2004.

The first time we viewed this building it was in the very preliminary stages, with mainly renderings to show you what it will be.  As you can tell by the pictures we still have some work to but it is certainly almost there.

SWA Architecture are the architects, designers, expediters and landmark applicants for this building.  We have two floors for retail, a rear addition, we inserted a new residential floor in the rear (6 total apartments), a curved balcony at parlor level, and a complete restoration of the facade including brick work, stone work, windows, doors and slate roof.

We really put a lot into this town house as you can see.  That's it for this week.  Stay tuned for another post coming your way next week.  Don't forget to give us a follow on instagram - @swa_architecture

SWA Architecture Weekly Blog

Hello and Welcome back to the SWA Architecture weekly blog.  The Blog like no other, where we take a deep dive into projects around the greater northeast area that SWA Architecture has been a part of.  This week we take a look at a different spot then we normally do, The Color Factory.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with The Color Factory, let's get you familiar.  The Color Factory, which just opened on August 20th, is an interactive exhibition, launched and designed by event planner Jordan Ferney of Oh Happy Day (a craft and celebrations blog) to help visitors explore the fun and importance of color.  Three are 16 rooms to explore throughout the 20,000-square-foot space which showcase immersive artwork from local writers, poets and musicians.  The event got its start in San Francisco, but the Gotham iteration is very much an ode to New York, with the art giving tips for people who live in the Big Apple.

Best of all, you can wander through the installation phone-free if you want. Upon entry, you are given a card to scan at each of the various photographic experiences inside. The photos will be sent directly to your email, so you can focus on enjoying the art versus panicking over taking the perfect picture. That’s pretty convenient, but what we really love is that this ticketed attraction ($38) is worth the price in freebies alone. During your visit, you get a ton of swag from gifts like Maybelline lipstick to ice cream, candy and other special treats. Tickets are still up for grabs at various time slots. It’s only in town until the end of September—don’t miss the chance to see (and taste) the rainbow!

SWA Architecture are the zoning and building code consultants and advisers.  We also program managed The Color Factory and other tenants in this building over the past several years.  So get down to The Color Factory for that sweet instagram post before it's too late!

That's it this week for the SWA Architecture weekly blog post.  Stay tuned for our next post and give us a follow on instagram if you haven't already - @swa_architecture

SWA Architecture Weekly Blog

Hello and welcome back to the SWA Architecture weekly blog.  The blog unlike any other where we take a unique look into projects that SWA Architecture has been a part of.  SWA Architecture has done projects all over the greater Northeast area and today will show you one of our favorites.

We are going back to another pizza spot, Roberta’s.  This is not just any pizza spot, it is an event to go there.  It is a two-star Michelin restaurant (Bianca), with a reasonably sized warehouse with an outdoor seating area, a garden, an event space, a radio station, a bakery that serves as their hub for all thing’s delivery, and rumor of so many more things to come.  Convinced to go yet?  I’m sure you are.  Located at 201 Moore St., it put Bushwick on the map.

SWA Architecture are the architects, planners and expeditors for pizza store, outdoor dining area, bakery, two-star Michelin restaurant and for converting the warehouse into a food production facility.  We can take care of a lot as you can tell.

That’s it this week for the SWA Architecture blog.  We hoped you’ll take the trip to Roberta’s, you won’t be disappointed.  Also, give us a follow on Instagram - @swa_architecture

SWA Architecture Weekly Blog

Hello and welcome back to the SWA Architecture weekly blog.  The blog like no other, where we view an array of different projects SWA Architecture has in some form been a part of.  This week we stray away from our usual building or restaurant and take a look at a unique sports facility.

If you love golf as much as me, this spot will appeal to your soul.  Get ready for the golf puns!  Konnectgolf is the premiere indoor golf club in midtown Manhattan.  I know what you’re thinking.  Indoors?  Yes. They have all the best golf courses in the world simulated for a convenient way to see and play the top courses.  It has state of the art technology that allows players to evaluate their swing with swing diagnostics and also play people online all over the world.

This spot also has a spacious bar and lounge.  Talk about a hole in one!  This is a great place to host an event or even bring a date.  SWA Architecture is responsible for the architecture, interior designs and expediting.  I’d say we did par for the course, maybe even an eagle.

That’s it this week for the golf puns and the blog.  Stay tuned next week where we go back to scoping out some impressive restaurants.  Don’t forget to give us a follow on Instagram - @swa_architecture
