SWA Architecture Weekly Blog


Hello and welcome to a special post brought to you by SWA Architecture.  If you go through most of our blog posts they usually focus on one project that we have worked on, show you what the project is and what SWA Architecture is responsible for.  This time we are changing it up a bit and showing you a bunch of projects that are landmarked building. 

Landmark buildings are old buildings that are protected by the Landmarks Preservation Commission in New York City.  Basically it is to keep these old, beautiful, historical buildings in tact.  The LPC is a charter mandated commission in New York City.  Created in 1965 through groundbreaking legislation signed by then mayor Robert F. Wagner due to the loss of historical significant buildings in New York City.  Most notably, Pennsylvania Station. 

Below are ten landmarks projects we have worked on.  We have many more and will post them later.   The top couple really are some of the most historical in New York City -
