Hello and welcome back to a holiday edition of the SWA
Architecture. This week we are taking a
look at a couple spots you surely will want to explore. The first spot we are taking a deep dive into
is Papasito Mexican Grill & Agave Bar.
Papasito, located at 223 Dyckman St, is a spot you must go
to. It may be very far uptown but it is
worth the trip. Papasito is a late-night
Mexican grill offering classic eats, happy-hour, live music and outdoor
tables. SWA Architecture were the planners and designers for the restaurant
and the outdoor sidewalk café.
That’s it this week for SWA Architecture, stay tuned for
another deep dive into another latin inspired spot, run by the same owners as
the beautiful Papasito Mexian Grill & Agave Bar. If you don’t follow us on Instagram check us

From an architectural standpoint, Papasito Mexican Grill & Agave Bar would aim to create more than just a place to eat; it would be designed as an immersive experience. The success of its architecture would lie in its ability to transport diners, evoking a sense of place and authenticity through thoughtful material selection, lighting, layout, and subtle cultural references, all while maintaining modern comfort and functionality. This might even include innovative design elements like the strategic use of corrugated fiberglass panels for their unique light diffusion or as a contemporary nod to rustic building materials. It's about crafting an environment that feels both genuine and aspirational, making it a "must-explore" spot for its ambiance as much as its cuisine.
