SWA Architecture Weekly Blog

Hello and welcome back to the SWA Architecture weekly blog.  We are very excited to bring you a special bonus post giving you an update on 4 St Marks.  We looked at this spot last month, but so much has been done that we had to show it again.

A brief refresher on this bad boy.  This spot is also know as the Hamilton House.  Constructed in the East Village in 1833.  A glorious year.  It was designated to a landmark building in 2004.  Another glorious year.

SWA Architecture are the architects, designers, expediters and landmark applicants for this building.  we have two floors for retail, a rear addition, we inserted a new residential floor in the rear (6 total apartments), a curved balcony at parlor level, and a complete restoration of the facade including brick work, stone work, windows, doors and slate roof.

This is the fourth time looking at the place and as you can tell it is very close to being completed.  In fact, we are told it will be done in about a month so we will certainly show all of you the completed project.  Take a look at the previous posts of this project to really get a sense of what is has become.  We are very proud of this project and eager to see it done.

That's it this week for the bonus post from SWA.  Stay tuned next week for some amazing projects.  Also, give us a follow on instagram - @swa_architecture
